Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
With 'witness statements' it is actually the same issue. People tend to forget how suppressive the USSR was. Saying stuff not in line with the party-line could land people in quite some trouble, there. So rather shut up about it. In terms of suppression, we know that the USSR failed mightily to sup...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
Archie, I think the only thing you've demonstrated is that I read skeptics. I also haven't plagiarized anything (passed off other people's ideas as my own). I'm happy to admit that similar arguments have probably been made for most of what I have to say and I've been influenced by them, as is the ca...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
Actions and reprisals against partisan threats is an entirely different initiative than resettlement per "Final Solution" policy. Your unwillingness to make such a distinction was not shared by the Germans, as evidenced earlier (see: the rejection of Kube's wishes to "liquidate"...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
Mm-mmm. You can’t really remember. Of course. Here is a post on another forum that makes the exact same Titanic argument that you’ve made here. You even quoted the exact same text. https://www.skepticforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=902510&#p902510 Yeah that's the post I read. So it's not a coincidenc...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
This question you ignored was not rhetorical. Is this Titanic argument something you came up with or did you crib this from somewhere else? I think someone else made the comparison but I don't remember who or where. It definitely stood out to me though. I'm not sure what the significance is here. W...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
I'll wait for your full response but want to point out that a clear difference between Romanian and German policy in occupied USSR was that according to everything we know the Romanians were much more "hands off", which would lessen the need for paperwork/administration. The Germans had c...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
This tells of a very interesting pattern: Jews hear rumors of mass executions of Jews (often related to partisan activity) so they decide to join the partisans. Reprisal killings then happen as a result, which more Jews elsewhere then hear rumors of. Wash, rinse, repeat. I wonder how many Jews may ...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
With regard to whether ""resettlement per final solution" seems to be unprecedented"... yes, bombsaway, it is the only time a large population was scrambled into countless different directions internally during the greatest war of all-time, before x number of them being sent far...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
We are both speculating here, bombsaway. The difference is that my speculation [that resettlement per "Final Solution" policy is much different than resettlement in Transnistria] is much better supported than your own [that we can reasonably compare the documentary record of the two]. I t...

Re: Document Says to Dispose of Bodies Through Dynamiting Buildings
What do you think about the effort seemingly put into the formatting of the document (numerous department codes, signatures, stamps)?
Assuming the content was self evidently absurd as you say, it would seem unlikely that one would place it in an otherwise extremely careful forgery.

Because we were talking about a lot of other things. Just posted a response in the 'orthodox' case thread, should show up on this page viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14859&start=465

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
Getting back to Transnistria, which everyone seems to be agree is a well evidenced mass population transfer, Butterfangers in his post here speculated about the reasons why there is so much more evidence for this resettlement as compared to the larger one with Action Reinhard https://forum.codoh.com...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
I already quoted their key summary sentence for you. They listed ONE for Treblinka, two for Belzec, and three for Sobibor. Those are the "good" witnesses, according to HC. They didn't include those other two (only briefly mentioned them separately) because they could not claim them as &qu...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
1) You say "more definitely" at the other camps, but for Treblinka, HC cited only ONE witness which is even more meager than the two for Belzec. From the testimonies of Shalayev (Treblinka), Hödl (Sobibor), Fuchs (Sobibor), Bauer (Sobibor), Reder (Belzec) and Czerniak (Belzec) it is clear...

Re: BA's case for orthodoxy
BA, I would like to ask you a pointed question here and I would like a direct response. Please do not dodge this. For Belzec, do you think it reasonable for them to conclude on the basis of 2/8 testimonies that the engine was "clearly" gasoline? If you were to give a percentage of certain...
