Among the many media tell us the Nazi defame the Jewish people especially in the Warsaw Ghetto by cutting their hair and beard "In an effort to dehumanize and psychologically destabilize their ‘enemies’." because the long beard would have some religious high value among the Jews, and Germans try to shave them to look funny and ridiculing.

What would be the origin of the pictures? What is their context?
The photos look like some hygiene measure like hair cutting is publicly demonstrated. Sometimes people seem to be laughing, perhaps somebody was cracking a joke.
Why would matters of Hygiene be 'dehumanizing'?
