In brief, what is the basic thesis of Mr Hayward?! I'd like to see some points summarized that he made.

I finally have gotten in printed and have begun reading it. Very enjoyable. I find myself wanting to add footnotes such as:

1) a clearer description/definition of differences between concentration and labor camps with context regarding the Communists and what they had previously "achieved" in Germany (~p. 23)
2) contextual notes on the war situation in 1943
3) notes on Billy Wilder's date on the scene and his background
4) there is a U.S. Army report on the role played by Jew Communists in the kapo system used. (~ p. 24)
5) the paragraphs relating to the abandonment of legal rules of evidence for the Nuremberg Trials (~p. 28)

I'm puzzled by this on ~ p. 13: "without gas chambers, this tiling [the murder of six million Jews] could not exist."

Not sure if it's a typo or an accurate term. I consider myself bi-lingual in US and UK English but have never heard "tiling" before. Any help much appreciated.

That said, a fine read and it's no wonder they wanted it scrubbed. A fine text.

"tiling" is just an OCR (Optical Character Reading) error for "killing".

Be charitable with Hayward if you find the odd detail to criticise. This was written more than 20 years ago as an MA (only just post-graduate, not even PH.D level) thesis when he was very young and he was unique in having the guts to address revisionism with any fair-mindedness within academia. He never openly embraced a revisionist position yet even so every attempt was made to destroy his career and his life. He escaped only by leaving New Zealand for Britain and never addressing the Big H again.

To me the work's great virtue is that, while never "denying the Holocaust" as such he shows the unbiased reader with academic rigour that Revisionism is not a loony fringe idea, but a rationally tenable thesis.

He became a Muslim (of the moderate variety) and is now a Head of Faculty in Dubai.
