Gerard Menuhin complained about false claims re. his recent book, Engl. edition. See his email below. For some reason CHP was erroneously listed as the publisher on Amazon and Nielsens, when in fact it is TBR. Oddly enough, when TBR found out about it, they did nothing to change it. I managed to get it changed, some three weeks ago, though. So we fixed that.
Another issue are claims that I helped Menuhin get the book out, as is states here, for instance:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10013&hilit=Germar#p75785As Gerard indicates with the below email, the background is different. On Feb 16, 2015, Paul Angel from TBR got Gerard in touch with me after they had tentatively agreed that TBR would publish the English edition. Paul stated to me: "Gerard Menuhin has a book I think you can be of help with and might be interested in publishing." I called Paul instantly, and we agreed that I should look over the book to see whether I would be interested. At that point he even indicated that I could and even should do both the English and the German edition, since I'm doing bilingual publishing, and because he could then take the finished product and market it through our shared PoD channels (at that point in time CHP and TBR had one shared PoD account, but no longer). Paul Angel sent me the Word file in an email on Feb 17. After I had initiated contact with Mr. Menuhin, he offered me in an email of Feb 18 to get the book out in a German translation. I informed Gerard in an email of Feb 19 about the option suggested by Paul Angel that I can do both the English and the German edition.
However, after some forth and back it was decided that TBR will do the English edition, but Paul Angel wanted me to do the peer review of the book, about which I informed Menuhin in an email on Feb 26 saying "Paul asked me to do the peer review, after he's done with editing and layout. Then, once it is all done, we can translate it into German, which would then be a CHP project." I then continued by saying that there are "a number of inaccurate statements which should be corrected," to which Gerard reacted in a way leading me to suggest in an email of Feb 27 that Jürgen Graf might be the best option for a German translator, and that I would postpone my agreed-upon peer review process until Paul Angel was done formatting the book in such a way as to facilitate the review process. In an email of March 7, Gerard wrote "The inaccuracies you have already mentioned and any further corrections you may have to suggest will of course be gratefully accepted."
While the book was being worked on by both Paul Angel (English editing) and Jürgen Graf (German translation), Jürgen wrote in an email on June 19, 2015 that Gerard's book "is enormously explosive" and that Graf is "discovering numerous mistakes" which he is correcting in the process. Graf and Angel thus agreed that all corrections made to the book's German translation in coordination with the author would also be included in the English edition. This resulted in my dropping out as a peer reviewer on stand-by. It also caused the publication of the English edition being delayed until Graf's German translation/peer reviewing process was finished (which was the case sometime in September/October 2015, if I understand this correctly).
Fact is therefore that I was involved in this project only initially and merely at the periphery, but that I never actually contributed anything to it.
I hope this clarifies the situation.
