A lucky escape

Postby Jerry » 2 decades 3 weeks ago (Mon May 12, 2003 12:12 pm)

Hello to everyone on this board.

I was pleased to discover this new version of the CODOH forum, where I used to post some time ago until it disappeared. (Can anyone tell me what happened?)

Just to add another little tale to the "incroyable mais vrai" series of "Holocaust memories" (of course, we all know the stories must be true, no matter how incredible: surviving six gassings, breathing through the keyhole, etc., etc.), I thought readers of this board would be interested to hear about the lucky escape of Halina Birenbaum:

"Halina Birenbaum was born in Warsaw, where, as a child, she lived with the nightmare of the war. In the Majdanek Concentration Camp she spent a night in a gas chamber; in the morning it turned out that the Germans had run out of gas."

http://www.zchor.org/birenbaum/halina_eng.htm

I was hoping to read more details about this in Halina's monograph entitled "My Hundreds of Years in the Holocaust", which appears on the same website, but apparently the translator is still working on the English version of this (presumably monumental) work, and the version that appears doesn't get as far as the "night in a gas chamber" episode. That's a pity because I'm curious to know what it was like being in a gas chamber all night waiting to be gassed. And how did she find out the Germans had run out of gas? Did they just open the door the next morning and say: "Right, you lot, out of there! Gassing's off for today, we're out of gas…"?

And what happened next? Did the Germans attempt to exterminate the reprieved occupants of the gas chamber by some other means, or did they just send them off to have breakfast instead?

The CODOH Moderator, David Thomas, got burned out and left. For some reason Bradley Smith opted to throw the baby out with the bathwater and dumped the BBS even though it was responsible for the lion's share of hits at CODOH; which at one point were reaching 1,000,000 a month. Go figure.

Necessity being the mother of invention, welcome to The Revisionst Forum, a new and completely independent site.

If it can't happen as alleged, then it didn't.

Hi All,

I was kind of bummed when the Air-Photo board shut down.
I just found this board yesterday.

I see lots of familiar names, familiar false arguments, etc.

Anyway, I look forward to further 'debate'. (Maybe there is a board that 'debates' whether wrestling is fake or not.)

When we sent Mr. Irving the link to the Gilbert-Gerstein thread we didn't actually request that he publicise it on his site, but we expected he would.

We're not so sure now if that was a wise move.
