They keep piling it on Reynouard

Postby Merlin300 » 3 months 1 day ago (Thu Mar 09, 2023 11:53 am)

This is an important case on the extension of Continental criminalization of historical discussion to England.

"The Frenchman was convicted under anti-Nazi laws across the Channel and handed a four-month jail term in November 2020, and a further six months in January 2021."

https://news.stv.tv/east-central/french ... -edinburgh

Note the lie that the anti-Revisionist laws are "anti-Nazi." Makes criminalizing discussion more palatable.

Also note Reynouard was served as he sat in the dock. An indication of which side the Sheriff stands in this case.

The new charges shift from his historical claims to alleging he is "inciting" hate.

A preliminary hearing has been fixed for April 20, with his full extradition hearing scheduled for June 8.

Here is his address (in this specific order):

160071 V Reynouard
HM Prison Edinburgh
33 Stenhouse Road
Edinburgh
EH11 3LN
UK

If you do not want to write your address on the back of the envelope or if you prefer to remain anonymous, then write the address of Sans Concession on the back of the envelope.

Indeed, an envelope without a shipping address is likely to be refused by the prison. As a reminder, here is the address of Sans Concession (in this precise order):

Sans Concession
PO Box 385
Hartlepool
TS24 4GX
United Kingdom

The case is not being held in England or under English law. It is under the jurisdiction of Scots law with reference to an international extradition treaty signed by the UK government.

I don't think there is any indication of what side the Sheriff stands from the fact that the document was served in court. It is not clear who handed over the fresh warrant - perhaps the Crown lawyer acting for the French authorities, who will have various rights. Vincent was not in court for the last hearing and it's not clear why he was required or allowed to attend on this occasion.

There is no reference to "hate" in the STV article. The video for which he was convicted is obviously not motivated by "racism/xenophobia" and this would clearly have come out once it was translated. Hence perhaps the supposed "error" of the French authorities - the nature of which the article does not clarify. In any case, "hate" is not one of the 32 categories of crime for which extradition is facilitated. These are listed here:
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32002F0584&from=FR
So the new legal basis of the French action is unclear from what has been reported.

His latest conviction was in relation to a series of antisemitic posts on social media.

Labelling Holocaust revisionism as "anti-Semitism" is just a trick used by French authorities to legitimize the Gayssot gag law without looking like censors.

Mr. Reynouard didn't write any antisemitic posts on social media or anywhere else because he's not antisemitic. He's Judeo-indifferent, as he often put it in his papers and videos.

"Antisemitic" is now often a code word for "who is hated by Jews," not "who hates Jews" as it used to be...
"[Austen Chamberlain] has done western civilization a great service by refuting at least one of the slanders against the Germans
because a civilization which leaves war lies unchallenged in an atmosphere of hatred and does not produce courage in its leaders to refute them
is doomed.

I really don't understand why "denying the holocaust" makes you a "neo-Nazi". For example, I don't believe that Saddam Hussein was stockpiling 'weapons of mass destruction' to take over the world, or that he was so EVIL he deserved to have his dictatorship toppled and his whole country destroyed. Does this make me a "neo-Baathist"?

And well, "Neo-Nazism" is obviously a cartoon version of National Socialism. If one investigates the soc. Neo-Nazis a bit that run around in NS-like costumes one will discover that a lot of those people are provocateurs (paid or not) and are in it for the kick they get out of 'shocking people' that think that 'Nazis are evil". I got yet to find a "Neonazi" that even has a basic understanding about National Socialism. What they have a view about National Socialism that has been formed by them watching Hollywood movies about the era. And they may think that those Nazis were really 'tough guys' for kicking 'the Jews arses' or something like that.

Also, the "Holocaust Deniers are Nazis" argument is actually pretty lame. Wouldn't (from the perspective of those making the argument) 'Nazis' have to actually embrace 'the Holocaust' because they 'hate Jews' that much? Something like: "Yeah, the Holocaust happened and it was good to do it".

The phony-argument is of course used as another smearing tactic. The users know very well the negative associations connected to any term like including "Nazi" in some way. The word has got some magic power to it, which is why it is used at all. And it would of course lose it's power if National Socialism would be demythologized. And the core of the Nazi-Myth is of course "the Holocaust". If that falls Hitler2.0. would be dethroned in the pantheon. And that would actually mean that a lot of things would have to be rethought.
