Vincent Reynouard's videos subtitles

Postby Paul » 8 years 3 weeks ago (Sat May 16, 2015 2:28 am)

Hello,

I'm newly registered to this forum, although I was a visitor for a while.
I cannot find english subtitles to Vincent's videos. It is a shame really, because this guy does a great job and his work deserves to be available to a much larger audience than only french speaking people.

Since I speak french, I could do some translations and provide a few english .srt subtitles. I've never done this before, so I don't know the amount of work required, but I am ready to begin.

I can start with Vincent's Einsatzgruppen videos. I think the best is to begin with the second of the series, since the first, very interesting though, is not related directly to Einsatzgruppen.

My only concern is that other people may work on the same project so it would be a big waste of time. If anyone is alredy doing this please let me know, otherwise I will begin shortly.

That would be truly excellent of you!

I agree, see if anyone else is working on them first. But I think a thread dedicated to who is working on what subtitles for what videos (any, not just these ones) might be a good idea to stop any confusion but also to inspire others.

Paul, you need to visit KZ Kladderadatsch, lol:

But there are lots more still to do. If you're interested in doing the EG videos, that's great. Board members Hermod and Kingfisher have been very helpful to me in the past in proofing videos and catching diffictult-to-hear passages. I can also help with proofing and the like.

As you say, the most important thing really is to try to avoid doubling up: it would be a shame to do all that work twice. So I'm very glad you've posted here. I was planning to do some of the EG material eventually myself, and . . . scoop or be scooped, I would have hated it either way.

If you've never done subtitling before, let me know and I can pass along some tips re. software and so on.

Nice job Kladderadatsch, I can see that you already made subtitles for some VR videos.
But there are many left to work on !
This is why I proposed to do the Einsatzgruppen ones.
I managed to do my first subtitle of the second of this series (this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYJe9cKhr9A)

I have included in this post a zip file of french subtitles (actually an accurate transcription), and english ones, translated by myself. I guess there are errors of various types (I am not native english-speaking), but I welcome remarks.

If this is OK, I will do the next of the EG series.

Thank you!!!

Some slight corrections needed - spelling, typos, etc - but the English subs seem pretty good to me.

Please continue!

Hello,

Here are the subtitles for the 3rd video in the Einsatzgruppen series (see zip file added to this post). There are english and french subtitles.
Corrections and remarks are welcome.

The next video will be the 4th, and will be more challenging since there are two people (Reynouard + Verbeke) speaking, sometimes simultaneously !

Test with rar'd and a zipped archive. It works from here. Could somebody else try uploading an attachment and see if it succeeds, or if it doesn't?

Webmaster,

Thanks for your help, but that's OK, I finally managed to attach the file. I was struggling with Linux permissions and the Tor Browser.

He is releasing more. Are his EG and newer ones being worked ok at all? Maybe hardcoded?

Their appear to be 9 new uploads by Vincent Reynouard that have hardcoded English subtitles. See this channel: https://youtube.com/channel/UCuqOMP0WCmxjzK9HmLrtJpA

3 of those videos (see below) that relate to revisionism are discussed in threads here on this forum. Hopefully we'll see some new of his videos hardcoded soon
