Himmler's living room...

Postby Erik D. Schmid » 1 decade 7 years ago (Mon Feb 27, 2006 5:39 pm)

After having this subject brought up on another forum I searched here for information about Himmler's living room set that was supposedly made from human skin and bones. It was said that this subject was brought up at Nuremburg. I suggested they were thinking of Ilse Koch. Then I did a Google search for it and did not come up with much other than vague references and speculation. Now, can anyone here elaborate on this subject?

I've heard this before. So where's this furniture? The 'Holocaust' is one of most bizarre tales ever told.

As someone already remarked: is there such a thing as a normal holocau$t story?

By the way, apparently it was Bormann's son who made this unfounded claim.

No furniture, no 'Holocaust'?

You'll love this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Adolf_Bormann
Martin Adolf Bormann (born 1930) is the eldest of ten children of Martin Bormann and the godson of Adolf Hitler.

As a child during World War II, he saw furniture in the house of Heinrich Himmler made from human skin and bones. His mother, realising that a lampshade given to her by Himmler must also be made from human skin, went home and burned it. He says that the memory of this has haunted him throughout his life.

After the war, he became a Roman Catholic and was ordained as a priest. He was severely injured in 1969 and was nursed back to health by a nun. In 1971, they renounced their vows of celibacy and married.

Mr Bormann has been a tireless campaigner to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and oppose the activities of Holocaust deniers.

This from the other forum where I first heard of this subject:

I am not specifically addressing lampshades, and certianly not to Ilse Koch. I am refering to Himlers living room set, which eyewitnesses prior to the end of the war (who were Nazis, including Martin Borman) saw - the chairs and tables were made of human bones, and skin. Photos exist of this living room set, although I've been unable to google any in the past 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the Nuremburg trial documents project no longer seems to be online - it is a very legitimate University project (from an institution specializing in law) seeking to put online all relevent data to the Nuremburg trial. It should be noted that while no lampshades were produced in the trial you refer to that were genuine, samples of tattooed human skin certainly were, and passed the forensics test, alongside shrunken human heads.

:) I can't exactly recall the specifics, but I vaugely remember a simmilar story concearning the office of Dr. Geobbels, having a chair made of bones that was witnesed by a small child. This just goes to show you how popular

the nazi/holocaust writers bandwagon has become. For instance, hitler's piano player,Hitler's childhood freind,Hitler's barber,Hitler's cheuffer,as well as the abundance of I was there books,or I knew this nazi noteable or

another,or I was at one of the camps.I can't wait to publish my "memoir","I was in a public bathroom when Hitler walked in,took a piss, and left!"

'Nazis' plural? Who?

The only source for this crap is Bormann's son, not Bormann. Bormann's son was obviously a mere baby.

Photos? Where?

Nuremberg? Where?

As Goethe says about this alleged 'furniture' ... where?

Tattooed human skin, so what? Samples taken from the deceased, it happens in coroner facilities and medical schools around the world. Means nothing.

Shrunken heads? Have you seen the things? They look like hippies with long hair and they're not even caucasian. Obviously South American Indians samples taken from a museum/institution.

This moron has no clue, has excuses for everything, and can't handle truth when it slaps him in the face.

If it can't happen as alleged, then it didn't.

Those are the shrunken heads presented as "evidence" at Nuremberg.

How many Jews back in the 40's (or nowadays) had large tattoos in their faces?

As Hannover remarked, those are not Caucasian heads, but most likely looted from some ethnographical museum by the Soviets.

Germar Rudolf has this to say on page 101 of his Lectures on the Holocaust:

I am no anthropologist and so don't know whether skin color and physiognomy remain intact after the shrinking process, so for that reason I won't go out on a limb on this point. But when one considers that the hair of the concentration camp prisoners was basically shorn almost down to the scalp, and the hair of these shrunken heads is long, one is permitted to doubt the official history. In any case, the skulls have disappeared without a trace, and a systematic search for similar heads in German or foreign anthropological museums has, as far as I know, not yet been done.

Germar Rudolf on the lamp shades &c, from the same book, pp.99-100:

[Ilse Koch] is supposed to have selected living prisoners in the camp according to their tattooing and designated them for killing in order to eventually have household objects produced from their skin. In his detailed study, U.S. mainstream author Arthur L. SMith determined that the objects identified as human skin by a U.S. examination after they were sent to the International Military Tribunal (IMT) at Nuremberg, disappeared without a trace.(188 [A.L. Smith, Die "Hexe von Buchenwald." Der Fall Ilse Koch, Böhlau, Köln 1983, pp.103,138,153,164]). According to the statement of General Clay of the U.S. Army, the alleged human skin lamp shades are supposed to have consisted of goat skin. (189 [A.L. Smith. op.cit. (not1 188) p.227]). All other objects found later were either of synthetic leather, animal leather, textile, or cardboard. The charges against Frau Koch which were later brought before a German court were based merely upon witness testimony uncritically accepeted as true by the court.

Supposedly the same thing happened to the human furniture from Himmler's living room - it simply disappeared without ever being analyzed. All we have is the very reliable  testimony by Bormann's son.

I guess this is either the case of false memory or that Bormann as a kid visited Himmler's home, saw some lampshades made from animal skin, some details like door knobs or light switches made from for example whale bone and let his imagination run away with him (perhaps at a much later date - after hearing the propaganda about human skin lamp shades &c).

Do anyone know when Bormann the younger first made this bizarre assertion?

Also, when were the rumours about lamp shades and furniture made from human bones started?

Btw, wouldn't lots and lots of visitors to the Himmler household have noticed the somewhat odd furniture and made testimonies about it after the war? Which other "eye witnesses" actually claims to have seen it?

See a message of mine where the supposed "bone furniture" in Himmler's home is mentioned, together with the bibliographic reference:

My local museum has a shrunken head just like one of those. It's South American, as those clearly are.

Thank you for the information. However, I feel that moron is too harsh a term as this person is a very good historical researcher, but this sujbject I believe is so emotionally and politically charged that it has the tendency to cloud peoples judgements.
