The Zoot Suit Riots

Postby Mortimer » 1 decade 4 months ago (Mon Jan 14, 2013 11:34 am)

During the second world war the Roosevelt administration, the press and Hollywood talked about racial equality and fighting prejudice. The United States was held up as a bastion of tolerance compared to the Axis. Meanwhile in the real world a series of attacks on Mexicans living in America was started by US servicemen. They became known as the Zoot Suit riots.

There are 2 sides to every story - always listen or read both points of view and make up your own mind. Don't let others do your thinking for you.
