Why Debate

Why do we debate the Holocaust? What is the purpose? What is it good for?
I find it almost a waste of time, a time I rather spend studying the subject matter. I have about 10,000 files on my HD, numerous books. And at our local library a tremendous source to all kinds of helpful information.

Plenty to keep me busy.

I am personally mostly interested in technical matters, like the ventilation system of Krema II (I finally received Pressac’s book on the gas chambers with some of the engineering drawings), or the cremation process, or Rudolf's graphical solution of a differential equation about the spreading of the CN gas in the alleged gas chamber.
These are things not discussed, neither here nor on any other of the numerous boards and forums I know of. There would not be an answer if I would post any of this stuff anyways.

And then there is the risk of being put down or plain insulted on top of it.

So why do it?

Do it because of those that visit the site. There is no place where they can find discussion without namecalling and absurd Believer obfuscations.

We're establishing an archive of material here which is usually straight forward and relatively easy for the casual reader to digest. The search feature is simple and can offer anyone quick insights into specifics.
Think in terms of a Revisionist mini-encyclopedia for WWW users.

This Forum is not just about those that post here, there is a bigger picture.

I know of no examples of you being insulted or put down where there hasn't been Moderator intervention, please speak up when that occurs.

IMO, your technical posts are generally not very debatable, minus a small detail or two, because they're solid from top to bottom. In fact that is an issue for Revisionism in general.....when the playing field is level it's lights out for the standard story. They cannot debate us, they know it.

Debate allows you to test your own ideas because adversaries are highly-motivated to find chinks in your reasoning. This allows you to make your argument better than you would have recognized or been willing to allow on your own. It also provides a gauge to see how persuasive your ideas are to others. You can have the best evidence and reasoning in the world but if you cannot make your arguments persuasive you're just spinning your wheels. Sometimes the most persuasive arguments are not the most rational. Honest debate helps sift the wheat from the chaff.

Sometimes I mention the Big H to people. That it is one Big Lie. Why? Because in the rare case that he/she (and I use the word 'she' advisedly since one of the 2 or 3 people I've 'converted' was a female.) is open minded enough to listen, and consider, it is fun. Hey, who likes being the only one who knows?

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority simply cannot get past the fact that the Big H has been drilled into them their entire lives. So, any discussion with them is a total waste of time. Facts, reasoning, etc. mean absolutely nothing.

As for 'debating' it on this board, I do it for 2 reasons. One, it is fun reading, posting, commenting, on some of the outlandish tales (The cage with the eagle and the bear, dead jews as Xmas tree ornaments, etc.). And, again, it feels good to know I'm not the only one who knows the H is an obscene lie. Also, there are some people who venture on this site, and it is good for some of them to see just how ludicrous the H fairy tale is.

There are SOME receptive people out there. And, there are differences among them. Some are swayed by the scientific impossibility of many of the H claims. Others are impressed by the obvious BS of many of the 'witnesses' (ie, geysers of blood, breathing thru keyholes, etc.). So, I say, keep posting. Many (though not on a percentage basis) will appreciate it.

I enjoy following the debates between Philips and Holman on alt.revisionism.

Holman, a black lawyer located in Helsinki, is the Holocaust apologist. Philips says that he is Jewish and is the Holocaust skeptic.

Those two are at each other since years now. Great entertainment. Beats TV any time.

The rest of alt.revisionism is besides an occasional revisionist posting mostly garbage.
