I mean, you can't prove something happened which indeed, never occured. Just like I don't have to prove that fairy godmothers do not exist, I simply say that it has not been proven that they exist, and until such proof is presented, I have no reason to believe in them.
It's not that what they are saying is proven wrong, but rather, what they are saying has not been proven.
