Babi Yar Corpses Alleged picture

Postby Questionador » 3 months 3 weeks ago (Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:46 pm)

Recently I found in the Russia Beyond website article a book talking about German war crimes, among them, Babi Yar, illustrated with a supposed photo of piled up corpses provided by Sputnik: https://ru.rbth.com/read/1533-nazi-war-crimes-ussr
Image

According to the website, the source is provided by the Sputnik website, it does not have a date or the name of the photographer. The Sputnik website says that this photo is provided by the newspaper RIA Novosti with the caption:

Image
"Reproduction of the photo depicting Baby Yar ravine, the place where 100,000 Soviet people were executed. The original is at the State Archives of Film and Photo Documents of the Ukrainian SSR."

Of course, the death toll and profile description already make this photo dubious and show us that there is obvious pro-Russian or Soviet propaganda, but does anyone know where this photo originated?

I take the guess that it is a photographed painting.
Useful to dupe the gullible. But as far as Holocaust allegations are concerned the probative value is less than zero.

And well. If they killed 100.000 people in Babi Yar or even far less than that. Were is evidence for the remains?
If they ever found any, you can be pretty sure that they would have shown this over and over again. But they didn't. So what does that tell you?
