If the Germans were set on gassing Jews inside vans, why didn't they simply use a producer gas fueled van? Pick up a load of Jews at collection point A, drive to disposal area B, park the van, shut off the motor, direct the CO fuel into the van until all the Jews were dead, unload dead bodies, start engine, return to point A, repeat. Why drive aimlessly about, wasting precious liquid fuel needed for tanks, aircraft, etc. when there were literally hundreds of thousands of such CO generators available in Germany?

Right - masters of chemistry, pioneers in nuclear-science, rocketry and so forth all at their disposal, but instead they chose to employ old Russian tank-engines, disinfestation agents and the like, used in the most utterly improbable, implausible and illogical fashions imaginable, to carry out industrial mass-murder. Yeah sure...that all makes perfect sense.
