Best Holocaust Handbook for total laymen?

Postby Libertas Aut Mors » 7 months 4 days ago (Fri Nov 04, 2022 7:14 pm)

Many of the holocaust handbooks are very technical and specific to certain camps, atrocity stories, people or gas chambers (at least the ones I’ve read so far) and many tend to assume that the reader has at least a basic knowledge of the official Holocaust narrative. In reality the average person tends to have a VERY nebulous and vague understanding of what the Holocaust is, what the gas chambers were, and where the death camps were located.

Is there a good and relatively comprehensive book that appeals to the average Joe and tackles the entire Holocaust narrative and the most problematic issues? “The Hoax of the 20th Century” is okay, but it would probably come across too strongly to the average reader, and makes little consideration for someone with less patience and open-mindedness than someone who is already open to Holocaust revisionism.

Many thanks.

Lectures of the Holocaust might be what you're looking for

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance -- that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
— Herbert Spencer

NOTE: I am taking a leave of absence from revisionism to focus on other things. At this point, the ball is in their court to show the alleged massive pits full of human remains at the so-called "extermination camps." After 8 decades they still refuse to do this. I wonder why...

Jürgen Graf's Giant with Feet of Clay - a critique of Hilberg - is a good read and fairly short.

I personally like Auschwitz: Eyewitness Reports and Perpetrator Confessions of the Holocaust. It has a lot of general information information about revisionism on top of the the eyewitness reports and perpetrator confessions. The author doesn't assume that you know everything about the Holocausts so you get more explanation and background information.

You could try this volume, for a simple exposition of the myth :

Holocaust Handbooks, Volume 31:
Nicholas Kollerstrom, Nicholas Kollerstrom: Breaking the Spell—The Holocaust, Myth & Reality
5th, thoroughly revised and corrected edition

I know this thread is for the best Holocaust Handbook, specifically, however what might better fit what OP is looking for is something like the "Holocaust Skepticism" beginner's guide featured on the CODOH mainpage. Direct link to it, here:

I don't think pointing a newbie to a 200 page tome written in difficult technical language will be too helpful. What they first need to be made understood is what Holocaust Revisionism is actually about and what Revisionists do actually argue. That's necessary, because that's the points that are mostly misrepresented by MSM and those hostile to Revisionism. That brings you however to another problem. Most people have no clue about what a good argument or mode of proof is. They are prone to get carried away by emotional appeals and logical fallacies. That's why any introduction to Revisionism has to include an insistence on following the scientific method as far as possible and that means logical concluding from verifiable facts... hypothesis testing, etc. That Holocausting works with deceptive techniques designed to trick people into believing something for which empirical evidence is lacking and into narratives whose promotors do have ulterior motives should also be demonstrated. That still leaves you with the problem that people tend to revert to believing what the majority or powerful seem to believe. But that's something one can not do much about right now.
