The shrinking Majdanek death toll

According to a statistical review of mortality over the one month August 1943, Madjanek / Lublin had a percentage mortality quite a bit higher than other camps:

That is total deaths in one month, divided by mean inmate population for that month.
Its male camp had 11,500 inmates, with 882 deaths, while its female camp had 3,900 total with 172 deaths: 7% and 4% respectively, while the average for the german labour-camps had been then reduced to only 2% (ie, total deaths in August, divided by mean camp population for that month).

The British decrypts now kept in the Public Record Office at Kew in London have got monthly population figures, for the 12 months January 1942-January 1943, for Lublin, but they do not have death figures as such. It had two separate records for Lublin, male and female, and in January 1943 the mean values were: 4,700 and 2,600 inmates. So it grew a lot that year.

The British-intelligence decrypts give for Lublin/Majdanek, in December '42, around 7000 male and 2800 female inmates. (Source: National Archives, HW 16/10). For that year totals don’t go above 8000.

For the same period the Korherr report has for Jews in Lublin: Internments; Releases; Deaths; Status as of 31.12.1942

- I.e. quite a lot more.
But its reassuring that these two separate sources both separate this camp by male/female (This begins in October ’42 for the British decrypts).
For ‘departures’ which can include deaths the British-intel decrypts have for the fortnight prior to 31.12.42, 1133 in total, and a much smaller number of arrivals. I can’t make a lot of sense of this, as the Hofle telegram has 12,761 supposed arrivals at Lublin over that same period. Everything about that Hofle telegram seems rather dubious to me.
