Władysław Studnicki - Polish Nationalist who advocated alliance with the Third Reich

In Poland at present there seems to be a resurgence of interest in Władysław Studnicki, with considerable publicity over the publication of the first full-length biography of this enigmatic figure whose works were banned in the Polish People's Republic. Studnicki was the principal advocate of Polish-German alliance in the interwar era and accurately predicted the dismal fate his country would endure as a result of siding with Britain and France. I first read about Studnicki in Hoggan's The Forced War many years ago. This Polish article is worth running through translate:

Studnicki argued that both Poland and Germany were anti communist nations and it made more sense for them to come to an agreement than ally with the British.

Unfortunately the Polish leadership disagreed with him and we all know how that turned out. Churchill and the UK government agreed to Stalin taking over Poland in 1945 and installing a communist dictatorship.

The Polish leadership also believed in the empty promises of Roosevelt who went behind the backs of Congress and told the Poles not to come to an agreement over Danzig.

There are 2 sides to every story - always listen or read both points of view and make up your own mind. Don't let others do your thinking for you.
