PQ 17. Irving's book and the libel suit

Postby Werd » 9 years 8 months ago (Thu Sep 19, 2013 11:15 pm)

I read a lot of stuff at this index.

From what I have gathered and can guess, Irving is telling the truth about the libel case: Broome being perhaps a bit concerned about his reputation, but was mainly being leaned on by other people that were involved in the case namely the Winn brothers , in order to quash the book because it may have been too anti British.

Now, the big questions. is there any reason why irving should not be trusted in any of those websites? Has anyone read Irving's book and his take on the libel case surrounding it and found any errors or mistakes in the book or his rendition of the case? I ask because I am new to this particular event of world war two. Can anyone with more experience recommend anything to me in the way of sources? I was considering buying Ivring's book and this one too.
