Isn't it crazy that Germany sends people to jail for questioning the Holocaust? You would think more people would wonder why feel so threatened by questions and investigations. I really don't understand how Germany was so effectively brainwashed. The Germans should have known that these stories were false from the start. They should have seen the nonsense in the Nuremberg trials. They should have wondered why their people were kidnapped to Israel. How did the people not collectively stand up and exclaim, "This never happened!"? It seems so bizarre to me that an entire group of people were spoon fed lies, and actually swallowed.

They couldn't say, "This never happened!" because the Holo-fraud in its first decades (from the 1940s to the 1960s) had supposedly been a Top Secret operation designed by dead leaders and implemented by a handful of executioners in a few remote places. If some terrible pics of typhus victims and Hoess' amazing 'confession' could deceive Goering as they did, there is no surprise the victors' propaganda could achieve the same thing with the ordinary Germans. How can anybody say that something he/she was not even supposed to be aware of, didn't happen anyway? Ghosts deny nothing. Very easy to blame anything on ghosts and a small number of resigned & broken scapegoats. This is what the advocates of the Holocaust conspiracy theory 1.0 did.

BTW my opinion on the subject of this thread/topic is that 'they' didn't or haven't got to Eric. Eric got to Eric by not fulfilling his film making obligations, for which I understand he was paid considerable monies, he had to turn around and deny the revisionists. That way he could, in his mind, legitimately take the money and run.

True. Doubting any part of the victors' WW2 narrative would certainly have made any German go up in the classification of the oft-Jewish denazificators. Very probably interpreted as pro-Nazi feelings and punished accordingly.

Denazification classification and punishments:

V. Persons Exonerated (German: Entlastete). No sanctions.
IV. Followers (German: Mitläufer). Possible restrictions on travel, employment, political rights, plus fines.
III. Lesser Offenders (German: Minderbelastete). Placed on probation for 2–3 years with a list of restrictions. No internment.
II. Offenders: Activists, Militants, and Profiteers, or Incriminated Persons (German: Belastete). Subject to immediate arrest and imprisonment up to ten years performing reparation or reconstruction work plus a list of other restrictions.
I. Major Offenders (German: Hauptschuldige). Subject to immediate arrest, death, imprisonment with or without hard labour, plus a list of lesser sanctions.
