In the case of Auschwitz, this was a Stammlager (Stalag) with numerous camps in its vicinity in Upper Silesia.

The more information become available, the worse it looks for the standard Holocaust narrative.

It was very convenient, when only very little data was available, but the assertions that they "had been killed". Then it was only a screaming contest, which doesn't really constitute scientific truth.

A few hundred thousands, surely less than 500k.

An often cited number is 6 million jews in Israel today (I've seen "7 million" too, but I guess 6 million is more convenient ).

In other words, millions of jews ended up in post-war Israel, after they were claimed to have been holocausted.
