I noticed a trailer last night for a forthcoming programme to be aired this weekend on Channel Five, I think. It's all part of the Chris Tarrant series of railway journeys where over the years he has travelled on some of the most extreme railway lines around the world. I think it will be shown this coming Sunday evening, 28th October.
As an intro and some background Chris Tarrant has been on British TV for some 30+ years doing funny kids shows, Saturday morning lunacy, as a DJ on London's Capital Radio where for a time it was the biggest show in the country and of course he hosted Who Wants To Be A Millionaire for many years.
He is a big steam railway fan and thus along came his railway travels for TV.
This weekend's show is all about the Holocaust and the part the railways played in that. He visits Chelmno, Treblinka, Auschwitz and perhaps some others too.
Not sure I'll be watching as Strictly Come Dancing is more my cup of tea but I might take a sneaky peak to witness the witnesses/survivors he will no doubt be interviewing to prove it all happened and other such lies and deceit.
Chris Tarrant explores the darkest chapter in the history of the railways, their role in the Nazi Holocaust of WWII.
Traveling through three countries, he takes a railway journey that will chronicle how the Holocaust evolved during a 10 year period from 1935 to 1945, starting in Nuremberg and ending at the death camps of Auschwitz. The programme explores the history step-by-step, starting with the implementation of the first anti-Jewish laws and the Nazi’s simultaneous quest to build the world’s most powerful railway.
