If a "witness" say so then yes, of course he did! Nothing ever need be tangibly supported in the Holo-verse. If the "right" person claims it happened...it happened, and to question it, regardless of it being demonstrably false or physically impossible is an act of "anti-Semitism" and "hate," to say nothing of officially illegal in many counties.

And this, supposedly reasonable, intelligent and fair-minded people accept without reservation.

----------

One wonders why Groening just doesn't indulge in Brothers Grimm level stuff - at least that would be entertaining:

"With the blessings of Commandant Hoess, Dr. Josef Mengele personally ordered me - a mere accountant - to perform a triple mission - to report immediately to the gas chamber and find Irene Zisblatt and her five diamonds, as Himmler was furious about missing them during Aktion Reinhardt; at the same time, I was to make sure that the Seven Jewish Dwarf siblings were to be saved from the deadly fumes, as Mengele had expressed an inordinate and devilish intent to perform unspeakable experiments on Jewish Dwarfs who happened to be siblings. I was also ordered to make sure to find a suitable Jewish tattoo for Ilse Koch's collection, preferably from a Jew hailing from the Hungarian town of Sigar, if possible. It never crossed my mind to disobey these criminal orders, since Adolf Eichmann and the Fuehrer himself had assured me that such actions were necessary in order to achieve final victory and world domination." :P

Mr. Mulegino:
You are truly incorrigible.
How dare you expose the insanity of the latest religion.
Don't you know that big paychecks depend on it?
B.
Revisionists are just the messengers, the impossibility of the "Holocaust" narrative is the message.

Haha...indeed! If he mentions Mengele...it HAS to be true!

I suppose part of Groening's deal-making - whatever it may have entailed - demanded that he keep the story strictly per the accepted script of that moment. So he likely had to really restrain himself to keep the Brothers Grimm stuff at bay. Imagine the temptation!

The show is going on...

They never intended to imprison him.

Oskar Groening: Nazi 'bookkeeper of Auschwitz' appeals jail sentence on grounds of 'minor' role

A former Nazi SS officer known as the "bookkeeper of Auschwitz" has appealed a four-year jail sentence handed down to him last week, his legal team says.

Oskar Groening, 94, was convicted by a court in the northern German city of Lueneburg of accessory to murder in 300,000 cases of Hungarian Jews sent to the gas chambers from May to July 1944.

One of his attorneys, Hans Holtermann, said he had taken his case to the Federal Court of Justice, a higher tribunal.

[...]

Court observers say it is unlikely Groening, who was not in custody during the trial, would ever serve time in prison given his advanced age and deteriorating health.

Any sentence would only begin after his appeal has been heard, and then a medical team would evaluate whether Groening is physically capable of withstanding incarceration.

Next episodes: the appeal 'trial'
Last episode: Gröning's death before the end of the judicial farce.
"[Austen Chamberlain] has done western civilization a great service by refuting at least one of the slanders against the Germans
because a civilization which leaves war lies unchallenged in an atmosphere of hatred and does not produce courage in its leaders to refute them

Seems he has run out of options. According to today's Daily Telegraph he has lost his appeal and so Oskar Groning will be going to jail. But that's ok because being 96 isn't counted as a legitimate excuse and neither is ill health because appropriate medical facilities exist in prison.

'Bookkeeper of Auschwitz' loses final appeal against jail term
Daily Telegraph headline today.

The ugly pursuance of 'justice' makes me very unhappy. These people are hell bent on vengeance and simply cannot let go. They have had every opportunity since the birth of modern israel in 1948 to be better and rise above but they simply don't have it in them.

Can I make a suggestion? When we find out which facility he is taken to we all send him a happy smiley card and wish him all the best. Tell him we support him and that he isn't forgotten. It's the right thing to do. Maybe one of our Germany based colleagues can watch the local media and follow this through so we might have an address.

Yes sending a card would be great.

On my wish-list is however an interview with him.
