Interesting immigration details to USA - Jewish Quarterly Re

Postby Kiwichap » 1 decade 6 years ago (Thu Nov 30, 2006 1:17 am)

This review has some interesting immigration details. East European Immigration to the United States
The Jewish Quarterly Review, New Ser,. Vol 45, No. 4, Tercentenary Issue. (Apr,. 1955), pp 497-528
Only at the end of the 1930's and at the beginning of the 1940's did the U.S. again absorb a considerable part of the Jewish imigrants (1940 - 1942): (53.7%). The growth of German-Jewish migration in the 1930's and the transmigration of Polish Jews through Russia and Japan at the beginning of the war were the reasons for this rise. In the following years, with the war in full swing, Jews were trapped in Europe, and the number of imigrants sharply declined: it rose again in the second half of the 1940's. As a result of President Trumans statement of December 22, 1945 on the DP's with the promise of some 39,000 immigration visas, the order a year later for 4 ships to bring in the immigrants, and the displaced Persons Act of 1948, thousands of Jews were enabled to enter the U.S. outside the quota. By June 30, 1952 a total of 393,542 immigrants had been admitted under the displaced Persons Act, of whom 16% were Jews.

During the 34 years of mass immigration some 2,000,000 Jews came to the United States, of whom about 1,800,000 (90%) were from Eastern Europe. During the 37 years since the outbreak of the war, some 680,000 have immigrated, of whom 361,830 (53%) came from Eastern Europe. To these should probably be added thousands, or a few tens of thousands, of Eastern European Jewish immigrants who entered the US through Canada, Mexico, and Cuba. Because of the quota restrictions they could not immigrate directly to the US but went first to those countries, and after staying there awhile, left for the US.. Canada, Mexico and Cuba were excluded from the quota restrictions.
A footnote:
*The figures for these and the following years are estimates. Since July 1, 1943 the word "Hebrew" has been deleted from steamship manifests and thus from the statistical information on the immigrants. The figures are based upon boat to boat estimates made by HIAS and United Service for New Americans
Have you Americans closed that Mexican border yet?

I guess between the Soviet Union, Israel the US and elsewhere we see well over 6 million Jews jumping ship before, during, and after the war, not including the 5 Million that just disappeared because they did not want to be Jews. See thread: The Jewish Fate And Future.

'The Hidden Tyranny' a booklet available on the net cites this exchange
Walter White, Jr: "I'm sure you know that when World War II broke out there were less than a quarter of a million Jews in ALL of Germany. Many thousands had already left Germany."

Harold Rosenthal: "So what? As I said before, the Jewish people are the cleverest people in the world. So somebody thought up a big number and perhaps it grew until now the number of Jews killed is six million. We have control of the news media and that is the great difference. Otherwise your people could tell YOUR big lie."

Cheers.
There was no holocaust.

I'm pretty slow on the uptake. See if I have this right.

We have 2M Jews going to Russia as of 1940.
We have 2M Jews going to the USA.
We have over 685,000 going to Israel.
We have 5M abandoning the tribe and disappearing.

That totals 9,685,000.

If we factor in 1M going elsewhere, Australia, New Zealand, Britain, South Africa ....

Thats approx 11,000,000.

Dont some Jews say 11M Jews are missing?

Well not any more!
There was no holocaust.

I think there's some confusion here. The 34 years of mass immigration refers to the period from 1880 to 1914 - in the words, the period following the Russian pogroms through to the outbreak of WWI. The 37 years refers to the following period (1914-50). There's nothing here inconsistent with the conventional view that only about 200,000 Jews reached the US between 1933 and about 1943.

This is a very important subject relating to the famous six million and should be pursued by revisionists but has not been so far. The number of Jews enetering the United States has been hidden from official view because as the story says it was done largely "outside the quota". Many of those entering were not identified as Jews at all. The Jewish Holocaust propaganda organizations are not interested in the subject because they know full well its impact on the "gas chamber" stories and I'm afraid the "official" information may have been now made very hard to discover.

Radar, I agree with you. I've done some research on the US aspect of this, and one little discovery I made is that the official US statistician during the Roosevelt years was a Jew. I will have to dig up my notes and provide further details when I get time.

Prof. Arthur Butz in “The Hoax of the Twentieth Century” has this to say about the post-war Jewish emigration:

»This is as far as the demographic analysis need be carried here, and it is probably essentially as far as it could be carried in any case. If we assume that at the end of the war there were about three million uprooted Jews whose situations had to be disposed of somehow by the Allies, then it is possible that one-half million emigrated to the U.S., one-half million went to Palestine, one million were absorbed by the Soviet Union, 750,000 settled in Eastern Europe excluding the Soviet Union, and 250,000 settled in Western Europe. On the other hand, the correct figures, including those offered here as data, may very well be somewhat different. The treatment presented here is guaranteed to be valid in a general way, but statistical accuracy cannot be attained.«

Here is a review from 1935. An interesting figure of Four Million Jews in the United States is given as of 1932.

The Jewish Quarterly Review, New Ser,. Vol. 25, No. 3 (Jan, 1935), pp. 290-291.
Review Author
Albert M. Friedenberg

The Jews Come to America, By Paul Masserman and Max Baker, New York: Bloch Publishing Company, 1932 Ppxi+477.

The Jews Come To America
The authors have written this book in fulfillment of an excellent conception. The thought behind their study was to show what America has meant to the four million Jews that came hither. Of course it became necessary to fill in the proper background for their remarks, to show what stimulated Jews to migrate westward and especially what occurred in eastern Europe in our days. At the same time the authors sought to present their study in a popular, non-technical garb and to avail themselves of all the information bearing on their theme at hand.

The result of this interesting effort is the present volume. Popularly written it certainly is since the authors' style bears all the earmarks of the argot of the tabloids. Eventually, however, the authors' slap-dash and slipshod language palls on the reader.

The first third of the work is devoted to the facts of early American history - from the beginning to about 1848. On the whole the story is measurably told but there are frequent mistatements and errors. To catalogue these errors were scarcely worthwhile and, indeed, would trespass beyond the space allotted to this notice. Suffice it to say, the authors have introduced "new" facts into this section of their narrative and, here and there, have added references to "primary" sources. On investigation the "new" facts were found to be purely fanciful and the the "primary" sources underlying and imbedded in well-known and well-documented secondary sources.

It may be that the authors might possibly have forestalled some of the foregoing criticism if they had written less hastily or if, having their work in proof, they had carefully and painstakingly read their proofs. From the first page to the last glaring and disconcerting proof-reading errors abound. One amusing one may be cited. In the index Dr David Philipson of Cincinnati, is confused with Ludwig Philippson, a leader of Reform Judaism in Germany and now many years in his grave.

Two-thirds of this work, then are devoted to the period since 1881, but these sections of it do not to the reviewer seem complete and impressive. Certainly in these sections of their book the authors woo strange loves and omit much that is germane to their topic. Their treatment, again, is too hasty and journalistic and does not square with the promise to show the effect America has had on the Jew. These sections present the usual catalogues of names and thus evidence the customary purpose: to show what Jews have contributed to American life in all its forms.

Almost every book, no matter how jejune. has acceptable features. So here the authors account of Isaac Mayer Wise and of Jews in the labor mobement may be unreservedly commended. And one rises from the reading of the entire book with a dominant thouht of regret: the authors planned their work well but have executed their plan so hastily and so superficially that their presentation fails altogether of its effect. This book should be carefully revised; it may then become the history of the Jews in the United States that we seek and need.
There was no holocaust.
