Reading about the "jewish Schindler" in the holocaust portion of this board, this question, about which I've been somewhat curious for a while, popped up: Switzerland, being surrounded by Axis or occupied or Vichy French territory, was accessible to Commonwealth and American representatives during the war, so how exactly did these representatives get to Switzerland? (It would seem equally a trick to get to Sweden.) Does anybody know the routes that were taken to get to Switzerland?
And while I am wondering about all this, didn't Germany maintain an embassy in Ireland during the war? If so, was there any travel of embassy personnel between Ireland and Germany?
