In Going over the Gaby Weber You Tube video and pdfs about Eichmann in Argentina I stumbled on this comment among the reader reviews of Alexander Jacob's translation of Eichmann's Memoir FALSE GODS published by Black House

The commenter is referencing a review there which asks readers to read the CODOH thread on The Eichmann Tapes (specifically Page 3) in which a poster to the forum states the tapes have never been made available...

"Contrarily to what this review claims, the Sassen tapes ARE available (in the German State Archives) and have been painstakingly studied in their entirety by German historian Bettina Stangneth, who writes extensively about them in her recent book "Eichmann Before Jerusalem".

The tapes aren't hearsay. The documentary about Eichmann by Guido Knopp (available on Youtube) contains several audio clips from the tapes.

Additionally, this book has nothing to do with the tapes, which were recorded in Argentina in the 1950s. This is a manuscript written by Eichmann in prison in Israel in 1960-1962. https://www.amazon.com/Eichmann-Before.../dp/0307950166"

Has anyone read Eichmann Before Jerusalem? And if so, does Bettina Stangneth write about him confessing on the tapes to witnessing a gassing at Klum and shootings? Klum? Where and at which camp was was that? Where was he supposed to have witness the shooting?

LIFE magazine editor C.D. jackson was captured on film at the liberation of Buchenwald lying to the people of the nearby town of Weimar who had been frog marched out to the camp for a propaganda film being shot there by Billy Wilder. They were made to view an atrocity table that included the legendary human skin lampshade and two shrunken heads presented as evidence by US prosecutorThomas Dodd at the Nuremburg IMT.

Would you be so kind and place a link, when you are citing a video that is available somewhere?
The existence of the tapes may not be hearsay, but what is on tapes may still be hearsay.

What I would be interested in, is Adolf Eichmann's connection with the intelligence services especially Israeli ones.
In the late 1940s, Walther (Walter) Rauff, an SS officer who was responsible for the murder of at least 100,000 people and was wanted by the Allies as a war criminal, was employed by the Israeli secret service. Instead of bringing him to justice it paid him for his services and helped him escape to South America. Documents of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that have been released over the past several years show that the Americans were aware that Rauff's case was not exceptional.

A CIA memorandum dated March 24, 1950 describes the relations between the Israel agent Edmond (Ted) Cross, whose name is deleted on this document, and a Nazi named Janos Walberg: "Subject's engagement be [sic] the Israeli Intelligence Service would fit into the picture as revealed by talks with X with [Edmond (Ted) Cross a.k.a. Magen or Crowder] consisting in the utilization of former Nazi elements for observation and penetration in the Arab countries. The attempt to send the well-known former SS Colonel Walter Rauff to Egypt having failed, the Israeli Service with all probability (however this has not yet been confirmed) had engaged Subject [Walberg], whose sentiments and past would arouse no suspicions in Egypt that he is a Jewish agent."

I just read the article in Life Magazine, and then read this thread. As Wings commented here long ago (Apr. 30, 2011) and lately Dirlewanger, it's a Psy Ops. Black propaganda. I think the account came from Yad Vashem, possibly written by Rachel Auerbach. You have to think of Yad Vashem not as a museum but as a propaganda myth-support center. Even the "cog in the machinery" take attributed to Hannah Arendt viewing the 1961 trial, is already here (page 19) because this whole thing was planned to go down a certain way from the beginning. Orchestrated. That Eisenhower was only going to be in office another month or so may not be a coincidence: this got into Life Magazine. As American as apple pie. Eisenhower's own promotion of the holocaust myth plus ties to Life Magazine's CD Jackson is in my video Buchenwald A Dumb Dumb Portrayal of Evil. President-elect Kennedy and the people he chose might not have been ok with Life helping an Israeli propaganda Psy Op, whereas Eisenhower's clique went way back in helping start the holocaust myth. And I'm not talking about just this Eichmann fake account, I mean the whole Eichmann capture/account gestalt, if you will. They are related, the plan already made: because the Life article (Nov. 28, 1960) has him talking about a captured Uboat engine (page 102) and later he says that in his trial in Israel, so the whole Israeli scheme was already orchestrated. What Willem Sassen's role was is uncertain. Completely fake? Or a honey pot? Or as Hektor quoting Haaretz just above this post regarding recruited spies: if they were going to use Nazi elements to get intelligence on the Arab world, might they use Nazi elements to spy on Buenos Aires former high up Nazis? And with this scenario, the tapes don't really exist. They're just part of the Psy Op story, which is why there's just a bone thrown every 20 years that some scholar saw something somewhere.

The article had photos of his family, his kids, inside his house. I think they were at the mercy of the Mossad to just go along with this.

The literary style is the biggest key to the whole thing, I don't know what to call it: "dark hypocrisy irony" which is in almost every paragraph. There must be a history to this style: It might have came out of Marxist literary style-portrayal of the enfeebled rich person and the crimes they commit against the working poor but are oblivious to, being caught up in their rich, or maybe royal lifestyle. Anti Czar. Worker agitation. I bet you can find it in Yiddish Theater. With some tweaking of the irony, you can create a "Nazis killing Jews" version. Here's some passages that get me:

Page 21: "My first assignment there had been extremely dull, sorting what ultimately became a huge card -index of Jews, Freemasons, members of various secret societies ad other subversive elements in the Reich." Haha, because the USA is so anti-communist in 1960, the propagandist doesn't want to let the viewer know that the Nazis were also anti-communist, so they sub with Freemasons etc. LOL.

After figuring out how to kill all the Jews at the Wannsee mansion: pg. 24 and pg. 101 "I noticed for the first time that Heydrich was smoking. Not only that but he had a cognac. Normally he touched nothing alcoholic. The only other time I had seen him drinking was at an office party many years before. We all had drinks then. We sang songs. After a while we got up on the chairs and drank a toast, then on the table and then round and round--on the chairs and on the table again. Heydrich taught it to us. It was an old North German custom. But we sat around peacefully after our Wannsee Conference, not just talking shop but giving ourselves a rest after so many taxing hours." Haha. So the irony here is elegantly 'talking shop" is talking about how to annihilate European Jewry. It's quite similar to a passage in Year In Treblinka by Yankel Weirnik, another psy op manuscript. Often you see the normal life covering horror, tied to something that is ethnic German. Compare with this last one:

On visiting Auschwitz Commandant Hoess: page 112: "Yet I liked to visit him. He lived with his wife and children in a 5-room house on the camp grounds. It was a homey place, clean and simple and furnished in SS-style natural wood." Haha: SS style natural wood home furnishings. LOL Family life. "honey would you like coffee table on this side or this side?" And at that very moment: Jews are trying to scratch their way out of concrete gas chambers. Their cool style and Germanness, is turned into this paper thin facade covering an evil darkness. As she then sets a bundt cake at the table's new place. I'm embellishing the irony just to help recognize the style.

I could add 10 more, because it's every other paragraph. But recognizing propaganda as genre is important. Often it's monocle on the face. Or using the word "pity" a lot. There's different versions but Key and Peele dialing into it with Awesome Hitler Story and "Das Negros" shows they're aware of the genre.

I have just read this for the first time, and I absolutely agree with your interpretation.

Carto's Cutlass Supreme wrote:The literary style is the biggest key to the whole thing, I don't know what to call it: "dark hypocrisy irony" which is in almost every paragraph. You don't even need to look to the past to find this, you only need to look to the present.

While reading your post, the most obvious example of this that came to mind was Hans Landa from the movie Inglorious Basterds (2009), produced by Lawrence Bender and distributed by Harvey Weinstein.

Image

The opening scene is long but worth a watch if you have not seen the movie, as it exemplifies your description of the literary style:

https://youtu.be/K0dAqhxfvlg?t=69

The summary is that the main villain, SS-Standartenführer Hans Landa, AKA "Jew Hunter", interrupts a working man chopping wood at his homestead in order to interrogate him and his wife about the whereabouts of a Jewish family from the area.

The tension in the scene is not built by Landa performing a violent interrogation, or making angry accusations, the tension is actually built by Landa's cordiality and etiquette. The viewer understands the established history of these events, sees the SS uniform of Landa, hears his German accent, and knows that this cordiality is a facade hiding a murderous psychopathy. A psychopathy that could manifest itself at a moment's notice, which indeed it does at the end of the scene.

"Dark hypocrisy irony" is an excellent description of this literary style. This scene is about as subtle as the passages you have referenced from "Eichmann's memoirs" published by LIFE.

In particular, the passage on the Wannsee Conference after-party you cited on pages 24 and 101 egregiously adopts this "dark hypocrisy irony" literary style:

After the conference, as I recall, Heydrich, Müller and your humble servant sat cozily around a fireplace. I noticed for the first time that Heydrich was smoking. Not only that, but he had a cognac. Normally he touched nothing alcoholic. The only other time I had seen him drinking was at an office party years before. We all had drinks then. We sang songs. After a while we got up on the chairs and drank a toast, then on the table and then round and round - on the chairs and on the table again. Heydrich taught it to us. It was an old North German custom.

But we sat around peacefully after our Wannsee Conference, not just talking shop but giving ourselves a rest after so many taxing hours.

The genocidal maniacs, after planning their extermination of the Jews, "sat cozily around a fireplace", a not-so-subtle allusion to the "Holocaust" to come, or as the Hebrew word defines it, a "burnt sacrifice offered whole to God."

This scene of the Germans sitting "cozily around a fireplace" after planning the extermination of the Jews at the Wannsee Conference foreshadows Wiernik's Year in Treblinka:

And while they suffered, the hearts of the fiends were filled with pride and pleasure in the hell they had created. It gave light and warmth, and at the same time it obliterated every trace of the victims, while our own hearts bled. The Oberscharfuhrer who had created this inferno sat by the fire, laughing, caressing it with his eyes and saying, "tadellos [perfect]!" To him, these flames represented the fulfillment of his perverted dreams and wishes.

Heydrich is characterized as a disciplined man who abstains from drinking and smoking, but he lowers his inhibitions to celebrate. He uncharacteristically smokes and drinks a glass of Cognac. Only the prospect of exterminating Jews is sufficient to excite Heydrich into partaking of tobacco and alcohol, a clear illustration of that latent psychopathy that can manifest at a moment's notice. The singing and dancing, and particularly Heydrich sharing "old North German customs" with his comrades, isn't event subtle; it's egregious.

Either Eichmann decided to portray the Wannsee Conference as a Pagan ritual, or some other author took the initiative for this literary endeavor.

As if that weren't sufficient, the "dark hypocrisy irony" is brought home with the final descriptions of "sitting around peacefully after our Wannsee Conference", "talking shop", and "resting after so many taxing hours", juxtaposing the relaxed demeanor of the psychopathic perpetrators with the genocidal horror they had just planned.

This mythologization of Heydrich and the Wannsee Conference you have identified also makes some thing else "click" for me:

I have been arguing with HC people about the naming origin of the code-name "Aktion Reinhardt" and they (i.e. Nick Terry), are highly insistent that this operation was named after Heydrich, despite all the evidence I have found to the contrary and am compiling here: https://rodoh.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4124

I was puzzled why these people are so intent on clinging to a historical "fact" that is clearly wrong, but reading these memoirs truly drives home what is at stake: there is a mythology behind the history that is threatened by these sorts of revisions. If these people accept that AR was an economic operation named after Fritz Reinhardt, they must also drop their romantic portrayal of Heydrich's pagan rituals at the Wannsee Conference as a precursor to "Aktion Reinhardt." This is, like you said, a literary genre, but it's also more than that- it's a mythology.

Carto's Cutlass Supreme wrote:Often you see the normal life covering horror, tied to something that is ethnic German.

This is an excellent description. You tend to see this combined with the Germans eating or drinking next to piles of corpses, or drinking to celebrate murdering Jews. Recall how "Eichmann" observed that Heydrich uncharacteristically enjoyed a glass of Cognac after planning the extermination of the Jews at the Wannsee Conference. The association of the Holocaust with drinking is a motif in Holocaust mythology, i.e.

At first glance, the incident at the German House might appear to be a grotesque aberration involving a single depraved Nazi killer. However, such ‘celebrations’ were widespread in the occupied Eastern territories as members of the notorious Schutzstaffel (SS) and the German police routinely engaged in celebratory rituals after mass killings. In fact, among the perpetrators of genocide, heavy drinking was common at the killing sites, in pubs and on bases throughout Poland and the Soviet Union. In another horrific example, a group of policemen charged with the cremation of some 800 Jewish corpses used the occasion to tap a keg. In this case, one of the men, named Müller, had the ‘honour’ of setting fire to ‘his Jews’ as he and his colleagues sat around the fire drinking beer. In a similar case, a Jewish woman recalled the aftermath of a killing operation at Przemyśl in Poland: ‘I smelled the odour of burning bodies and saw a group of Gestapo men who sat by the fire, singing and drinking.’ For these Gestapo men, ‘victory celebrations’ proved to be the order of the day, and followed every killing action or ‘liberation from the Jews’.

The role of alcohol in the Nazi genocide of European Jews deserves greater attention.

I agree that the "role of alcohol" in these stories deserves greater attention; but from a literary perspective, not a historical perspective.

Even historians at the USHMM have employed the "normal life covering horror" literary trope in their analysis of a recently discovered photograph at Sobibor. There is nothing incriminating in the photograph itself, it appears "normal life", but the historians take the liberty of adding a caption that transforms the photograph to fit the "normal life covering horror" mythology:

Image

The caption of this photograph reads:

SS personnel, including commandant Franz Reichleitner and deputy commandant Johann Niemann, gather on a patio at Sobibor in 1943, drinking from glasses that historians say could have been stolen from murdered Jews. (U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum)

There is a lot of untapped potential in approaching these writing as literary works, and critiquing them as such.

Hi PrudentRegret,

I was thinking of a different passage in Yankel Wiernik but that one works too!...Yes, the Inglorius Basterds intro has that. Like the drinking of a lot of wholesome milk, also a North Europe practice. It's not easy to write this way, though it would appear easy. It's a subtle line of social normal interaction and how to tweak it. It's like when an accused white racist says "hey I have a lot of black friends." and it falls flat, is taken as risible, met with a guffaw; similar to this passage from the Life Eichmann article, page 23:

One of the most useful of the Jewish officials in those days was a Dr. Storfer, a senior civil servant who had been a major in the Austrian army in World War I. I had a weakness for this Dr. Storfer. He never took a pfennig from his racial comrades and he had a very nice, proper way of negotiating. Unfortunately, years later, Storfer made a stupid blunder. He tried to escape. My second in command had never liked him and had him shot at Auschwitz.

The writer holds up a good Jew (you won't find a bad Jew in this article) sets a personable tone, of fair dealings, then has that fall flat with his second in command, who he clearly has control of, shooting him. Why was he at Auschwitz? Afterall he was Eichmann's friend.

Notice pfenning isn't translated. Yes this is a translation from German. A little ethno reminder for the Nazi he really is.

"Stupid blunder" is a little like the often used Nazi understatement of "pity."

"racial camarades" comes off pejorative. Subtle pejorated words, is part of the art.

The "enjoying something nice, something ethnic" can go two ways: 1) the façade, underneath which lies anti-semitism; or 2) of how that person was later killed, which in this case is likely an embellishment to a real incident. And it also serves the purpose of a Jewish reminder that Poles, Hungarians, etc. have an anti-semitic true secret nature. From the spurious Eichmann account.
...where we had a little Hungarian snack of slices of bacon and onion stuck on sticks and roasted over a fire. We ate them with wine from the Lieutenant Colonel's vineyards. I since have heard that he was hanged after 1945. PAGE 110

It's a well crafted propaganda story and paragraph. It's speculation who wrote it, but it would be someone like Rachel Auerbach or such a background, or a scriptwriter:
Auerbakh began her writing career in 1925 as a journalist for Chwila, a Polish Zionist daily newspaper published in Lviv. In the second half of the decade she worked for the Morgen Yiddish daily newspaper as an editor and writer. Between 1929 and 1930 she edited a literary column in a weekly published by the Poalei Zion movement.[1] She was an editor of Tsushtayer, a Yiddish literary journal, and coeditor and contributor to Yidish, another Galician journal that emphasized the cultural movement.[1]

Relocating to Warsaw in 1933, she was a frequent contributor to the leading Yiddish and Polish newspapers and literary journals of the day.[1] She wrote on "Polish and Yiddish literature, education, psychology, folklore, art, linguistics and theater", and paid special attention to Yiddish and Polish women writers and authors.[1]

Not to mention that the intro of Inglorious Basterds has a big deal about the SS officer's nickname. And the officer himself talking about it, and liking it. Compare to fake Eichmann piece page 109, and his nickname "Master."
I use the word "master" in quotation marks because people used it to describe me. I did not use it first. (new paragraph) Since they had sent the "master," however, I wanted to act like a master.

Propaganda holocaust writing also uses a strawman angle: so the premise is *Eichmann is just a fonctionary, a high level bureaucrat, just following orders* and here on page 109 he's actually in charge of troops going into Hungary to help round up Jews. He's so involved that on page 102 going to Minsk we read
I was so close that later I found bits of brains splattered on my long leather coat. My driver helped me to remove them.

Some points on above quote:
*strawman is knocked down.
* David Irving actually believes this story, which is also a story in Eichmann's memoir. The truth is the propagandists had the story already set up from the beginning which is why it's found in Life first. Here's Irving buying the propaganda:
http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v13/v13n2p14_Irving.html
* SS General Karl Wolff in World at War Genocide episode (episode #20; 1973) says brains got splattered on Himmler's coat.
* The chauffeur helping him clean up, is the trope of the rich emasculated man who though responsible, doesn't want to get his hands dirty.

Lastly the photographs is a whole other thing. A prominent photo associated with the article shows a man on his knees, hands forward as if to say "don't shoot." (page 2 and page 21) On bottom of page 2 in photo credits it's attributed to "Birnback." No first name. Well in this day and age if you have the last name and the photo, and know it's associated with world war II and the holocaust, should pop up in google fairly quickly or at the USHMM.org. It doesn't.

Then on page 112, a photo of Eichmann napping in his car with the caption "On the road back to Berlin, after witnessing brutal executions at Minsk, Eichmann naps in his car." This photo is unattributed. How in the world did they get this? His driver decided to take a photo of him sleeping that day? An internet search shows this photo only ever published here in Life. Taken inside his own car! It's fake.

Yup, here is a timestamp to that part of the conversation about Landa's nickname, the "Jew Hunter": https://youtu.be/K0dAqhxfvlg?t=686

Notice how the SS Officer mentions "Heydrich in Prague" and how Heydrich does not like his nick-name "Hangman Heydrich": "Heydrich apparently hates the name the good people of Prague have bestowed upon him."

- More mythologization of Heydrich, beyond the "glass of cognac" by the fireplace and the "old North German customs" at the Wannsee conference that "Eichmann" describes in his memoirs.

- More "hypocrisy dark irony" in the SS Officer's description of the "good people of Prague" who have given Heydrich his nick-name.

I tried finding a long article I read awhile ago on Himmler's Minsk visit, and his observation of the executions... You mentioned how Karl Wolff's account was filled with literary flair and the article I am trying to find goes into depth describing the blatant literary insertions. There appears to be several different variations of this account, each with their own literary flair, for example:

SS – Obergruppenfuhrer Karl Wolff who served as Himmler’s adjutant recalled that during a trip to Minsk on 15 August 1941 recalled that Himmler “asked to see a shooting operation,” and Einsatzgruppe B Commander Nebe arranged such an execution of 100 people, 98 men and 2 women.

Wolff was present at this action and he remembered how Himmler, just before the firing was to begin, walked up to a doomed man [in some versions this is a "young, tall, blond, blue-eyed man"] and put a few questions to him.

Are you a Jew?

Yes.

Are both your parents Jews?

Yes

Do you have any ancestors who were not Jews?

No

Then I can’t help you

Note the similarity between this exchange and the interrogation in the opening scene of the movie. Himmler is asking threatening questions but in a completely indirect way, like the SS officer in the movie. Even the simple "yes" and "no" responses from the victim directly mirrors the responses of the working man during his interrogation from Landa.

As you say, it includes a flowery description of Himmler's reaction to the executions:

While he was looking in, Himmler had the deserved bad luck that from one or other of the people who had been shot in the head he got a splash of brains on his coat, and I think it also splashed into his face and he went very green and pale – he wasn’t actually sick, but he was heaving and turned round and swayed and then I had to jump forward and hold him steady and then I led him away from the grave.

After the shooting was over, Himmler gathered the shooting squad in a semi-circle around him and, standing up in his car, so that he would be a little higher and be able to see the whole unit, he made a speech.

http://www.holocaustresearchproject.org ... minsk.html

In fact, the article linked to above omits another highly symbolic "detail" of the story I've seen included in other variations in other variations of this story, the women survive the initial execution attempt:

As the firing started, Himmler was even more nervous. During every volley he looked to the ground. When the two women did not die, Himmler yelled to the police sergeant not to torture them.

It is not surprising that the Holocaust Research Project omits this part of the story.

This version of the story even recounts dialogue in detail:

When the shooting was over, Himmler and the fellow spectator engaged in conversation. The other witness was Obergruppenführer von dem Bach-Zelewski, the same man who was later delivered to a hospital. Von dem Bach addressed Himmler:

Reichsführer, those were only a hundred.

What do you mean by that?

Look at the eyes of the men in this Kommando, how deeply shaken they are! These men are finished (fertig) for the rest of their lives. What kind of followers are we training here? Either neurotics or savages!

Himmler was visibly moved and decided to make a speech to all who were assembled here. He pointed out that the Einsatzgruppe were called upon to fulfil a repulsive (widerliche) duty. He would not like it if Germans did such a thing gladly. But their conscience was in no way impaired, for they were soldiers who had to carry out every order unconditionally. He alone had responsibility before God and Hitler for everything that was happening. They had undoubtedly noticed that he hated this bloody business (dass ihm das blutige Handwerk zuwider wäre) and that he had been aroused to the depth of his soul. But he too was obeying the highest law by doing his duty, and he was acting from a deep understanding of the necessity for this operation.

Himmler told the men to look at nature. There was combat everywhere, not only among men but also in the world of animals and plants. Whoever was too tired to fight must go under (zugrunde gehen). The most primitive man says that the horse is good and the bed bug is bad, or wheat is good and the thistle is bad. The human being consequently designates what is useful to him as good and what is harmful as bad. Didn’t bed bugs and rats have a life purpose also? Yes, but this has never meant that man could not defend himself against vermin.

After the speech Himmler, Nebe, von dem Bach, and the chief of Himmler’s Personal Staff, Wolff, inspected an insane asylum. Himmler ordered Nebe to end the suffering of these people as soon as possible. At the same time, Himmler asked Nebe ‘to turn over in his mind’ various other killing methods more humane than shooting. Nebe asked for permission to try out dynamite on the mentally ill people. Von dem Bach and Wolff protested that the sick people were not guinea pigs, but Himmler decided in favour of the attempt. Much later, Nebe confided to von dem Bach that the dynamite had been tried on the inmates with woeful results."

https://britishguardian.blogspot.com/20 ... minsk.html

I really wish I could find that article I had read that discussed these variations of the story in detail... It would be an extremely good example of this pattern applied to another story.

Indeed, like all such alleged huge mass graves / human remains said to be in known locations, there are no such alleged immense human remains.

The utterly impossible storyline falls apart on that simple fact alone.

Revisionists are just the messengers, the absurd impossibility of the 'holocaust' storyline is the message.

Hi Hannover: It does. And as I recall reading this forum, you're the person that brought that home to me in various posts.

I do wonder what really happened: did Eichmann really have something to give to the world? If he had contacted Life, Life probably would have immediately contacted Eisenhower and through that the Mossad! LOL, and what did come out, if something like that indeed happened, was nearly opposite of what he would have wanted to say.

And Hektor mentioning the Haaretz article and Walther Rauff. The article states
A 1953 report put him in Buenos Aires, where he probably headed an anti-Communist group.
If he was working for Israeli Intelligence, one could be sure they were using him to find Eichmann.

I doubt the story of what really happened will ever be known.

There is a new Israeli documentary that is said to be based on “the tapes” and that features clips from the them. The producers were able to get access.

“The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes,”

There has been reporting by Daily Mail and other outlets.

From NYT,

The documentary series intersperses Eichmann’s chilling words, in German, defending the Holocaust, with re-enactments of gatherings of Nazi sympathizers in 1957 in Buenos Aires, where the recordings were made.

Exposing Eichmann’s visceral, ideological antisemitism, his zeal for hunting down Jews and his role in the mechanics of mass murder, the series brings the missing evidence from the trial to a mass audience for the first time.

Eichmann can be heard swatting a fly that was buzzing around the room and describing it as having “a Jewish nature.”

He told his interlocutors that he “did not care” whether the Jews he sent to Auschwitz lived or died. Having denied knowledge of their fate in his trial, he said on tape that the order was that “Jews who are fit to work should be sent to work. Jews who are not fit to work must be sent to the Final Solution, period,” meaning their physical destruction.

“If we had killed 10.3 million Jews, I would say with satisfaction, ‘Good, we destroyed an enemy.’ Then we would have fulfilled our mission,” he said, referring to all the Jews of Europe.

Mr. Mozer, the director, who was also the writer of the series and himself the grandson of Holocaust survivors, said, “This is proof against Holocaust deniers and a way to see the true face of Eichmann.”

They of course say that this is a big blow to holocaust deniers but they only seem to have one or two “money quotes” which they are presenting without full context.
