Every couple of months David Cole polishes up his bona fides as a Not-a-Denier. This month he scoffs at what he calls "the Holocaust denial playbook." https://www.takimag.com/article/im-sick ... arent-you/

"And I hate to say this, but I know the topic all too well: They’re following the Holocaust denial playbook. It’s the exact same scam. Deniers purposely misrepresent innocuous photos from non-extermination camps (POW camps, labor camps, ghettos) and say, “Well, you don’t see any Jew-killing here! So therefore there wasn’t any.”

A meme currently circulating on Twitter shows a photo from the Nováky camp swimming pool. Nováky was a fascinating place (not that anyone cares about history anymore): a WWII Slovakian camp/ghetto coadministered by Slovaks and a Jewish committee. The inmates were Slovakian Jews whose labor skills had exempted them from Nazi deportation. And yeah, it had a coed pool. And a school. And arts and crafts.

So deniers use this photo of a Slovakian/Jewish-run camp and say, “This means no Jews were killed anywhere. Even Auschwitz had a pool” (a true claim, but it was in the penal/political prisoner camp, not the Jewish internment camp).

First, let's look at the evidence of Nováky and the experience of all of Slovakia. Not as a Revisionist "scam" but from the Yad Vashem.

Along with dozens of photographs of cute children and happy workers we are told,

All three camps employed both men and women, who, in return for their work, received shelter, food and clothing. Some institutions were set up in the camps for their benefit, including welfare services, a medical clinic and a kitchen. Educational institutions – a nursery, a kindergarten, and a high school – were opened, as well as a library. Musical shows and theater performances also took place in the camps, and in the evenings there were sometimes public lectures and classes. The Jewish Center did its best to prove to the Slovakian authorities that it was possible to benefit from Jewish labor. The Center documented life in the camps, and dozens of photographs have survived.

These photographs and records are powerful evidence of what happened in Slovakia. How can Believers fit this evidence with the
narrative presented at the IMT at Nuremberg?


The point here is not to bash David Cole...Irv Rubin did enough of that, but to express the idea that history is complicated.
Patient honest research and debate is needed to unravel the tangle of propaganda and fact to make history as accurate as humanly possible.

It is an unfortunately large group ranging from the ADL to the Center Marc Bloch in Berlin who all fanatically attack any deviation from the
correct history.

I got a spammed email from David Cole saying he was kicked off You Tube for hate speech and since then opened up a substack account

They claimed it was for “hate speech,” but my channel had never had a single “hate speech” strike against it. And even though YouTube’s 2019 policy update stipulated that a channel must have three strikes before being pulled, mine was pulled without a single strike.

Oh, and that new policy also guarantees “transparency” regarding the location of the offending content, but YouTube refused to tell me which of my video(s) contained the “hate.”

What they offered for decades were narratives commonly pretty obviously malicious ones.

And again, what's offered as 'physical evidence' either doesn't prove the thesis at all or turns out to be evidence for what happens, if a country is tried to be bombed to smithereens.

Yet according to holocaust historian Robert Van Pelt, the Reinhardt extermination camps have very low quality evidence.

Perhaps Lee Bollinger believes the alleged mass murders of millions of Jews at Treblinka, Sobibor and Belzec concentration camps are among the most documented events in human history. If so, he has fallen prey to another delusion, because the Dutch Holocaust historian Robert Jan van Pelt has conceded the evidence for mass murder at these camps is very sparse at best. In reference to these three camps, he wrote: "There are few eyewitnesses, no confession that can compare to that given by [Auschwitz commandant Rudolf] Hoess, no significant remains, and few archival sources."

How can David Cole not accept Auschwitz, but accept the Reinhardt camps as extermination camps when the Reinhardt camps have much less evidence than Auschwitz? All Cole has in defense of the Reinhardt extermination camps thesis is the "where did they go" argument. But this applies just as much to Auschwitz. Auschwitz has "documentation" of Jews being transported there. We could just as easily ask "where did they go" for them as well.

David Cole accepting this argument for the Reinhardt camps but not for Auschwitz is completely irrational. He either needs to accept it for both or for neither. I personally accept it for neither.

They need a former insider defaming Holocaust revisionists and posturing as a former "denier" who finally saw the light about the Holocaust. That's what he's now doing. IMO, they are loosing the advantage of surprise and cunning, though. The arguments (or substitutes for this), become more and more lame and obviously deceptive. What helps them is the widespread stupidity of people. And things have been driven so far, this will have to end in contradictions and conflicts. This is unavoidable in the end. Guess one will have to see how many tricks they still got up their sleeves.

Yes, "young Cole" was threatened (by Irv Rubin, if memory serves me right) and compelled to go into hiding. But I don't think that "old Cole" was threatened and compelled to resurface as a Holocaust believer posturing as a recanting "denier" with ridiculously-low evidentiary standards. I think that money was enough to hire "old Cole" for that gross deception.

On the other hand, he isn't really 'the Holocaust' a service, at all. It seems that he's trying to salvage the story by invoking a telegram. And that telegram is now supposed to prove the killing of more than one million people. Imagine this being the proof under any other circumstances.

Looking like a revisionist recanter who found the smoking gun (no matter how untrue it is) and portraying the "evil deniers" as laughable clowns who never stop lying (ditto) are a service more than big enough to the fraudulent orthodox narrative!! Most ignoramuses will just get easily fooled by that trick!

To newbies & lurkers: David Cole didn't recant his old revisionist conclusions. He just moved to a part of the orthodox narrative he hadn't dealt with in the 1990s, that is, the alleged gas chambers of the Reinhardt camps (Belzec, Sobibor & Treblinka). He never attempted to explain why his 1991 conclusions on the alleged gas chambers of Auschwitz, Majdanek, Dachau and Mauthausen were false (because they were not). Recanters dismiss their former statements and David Cole never did that. Certainly a turncoat, but absolutely not a recanter as alleged for deceptive purposes.

It's all in his book Republican Party Animal which I was given by a former visitor to this site on a visit to London. It is a great read and very David Cole if you get my meaning. He was outed by a girlfriend and suddenly his previous revisionist status was made public. Highly recommended book especially if you want to understand how the Republican party members and those in the upper echelons of Hollywood go about their Republican party activities in a notoriously Democratic stronghold not to say a city and industry controlled by Jews.
