Surely it speaks for itself. Why does a plane, hitting the 76th floor, suddenly cause the undamaged structure below to suddenly not be able to support what it had been supporting for the past thirty years? Remembering of course, these building were way over-engineered and got progressively stronger as they went down, i.e. the steel at the first third of the building was far thicker than the middle and the middle third was thicker than the top third.
