YouTube Censors Holocaust Revisionists, ADL Says it Isn't Enough

Postby JLAD Prove Me Wrong » 4 years 4 days ago (Wed Jun 05, 2019 3:13 pm)

According to https://youtube.googleblog.com/2019/06/ ... -hate.html (YouTube's Official Statement!)

we will remove content denying that well-documented violent events, like the Holocaust or the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, took place.

And of course, the usual suspects rejoice. From the ADL itself, https://twitter.com/ADL/status/1136306768781484033

Online hate & extremism pose a significant threat. We were glad to share our expertise with @YouTube on updating their policies to keep #hate off their platform. This is an important step forward, but must be followed by many more. Read our full statement:

Full statement from the ADL: https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases ... st-content

New York, NY, June 5, 2019 … ADL (Anti-Defamation League) issued the following statement regarding YouTube’s policy changes, announced today, to reduce extremist content, including white supremacy, conspiracy theories and Holocaust denialism:

"Online hate and extremism pose a significant threat -- weaponizing bigotry against marginalized communities, silencing voices through intimidation and acting as recruiting tools for hateful, fringe groups,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO and National Director. “That’s why ADL has been working with technology companies, including YouTube, to aggressively counter hate on their platforms. We were glad to share our expertise on this and look forward to continuing to provide input. While this is an important step forward, this move alone is insufficient and must be followed by many more changes from YouTube and other tech companies to adequately counter the scourge of online hate and extremism."

A recent ADL survey found that 37 percent of Americans experienced severe online hate and harassment in 2018, including sexual harassment, stalking, physical threats or sustained harassment. Seventeen percent of all users experienced hate and harassment on YouTube specifically.

Building on ADL’s century of experience building a world without hate, the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) serves as a resource to tech platforms and develops proactive solutions to fight hate both online and offline. CTS works at the intersection of technology and civil rights through education, research and advocacy.

And so, because of Jonathan Greenblatt, the CODOH YouTube channel and the HolocaustHandbooks YouTube channel, and other revisionist channels/videos are down. No ADL, no censorship.

I mean, if Holocaust deniers are as wrong as people say they are, why do they need to be censored? Truth does not fear truth. And why does YouTube want dead Jews so badly? Revisionists don't. Revisionists bring life affirming good news.

Our ongoing work to tackle hate

Wednesday, June 5, 2019

Over the past few years, we’ve been investing in the policies, resources and products needed to live up to our responsibility and protect the YouTube community from harmful content. This work has focused on four pillars: removing violative content, raising up authoritative content, reducing the spread of borderline content and rewarding trusted creators. Thanks to these investments, videos that violate our policies are removed faster than ever and users are seeing less borderline content and harmful misinformation. As we do this, we’re partnering closely with lawmakers and civil society around the globe to limit the spread of violent extremist content online.

We review our policies on an ongoing basis to make sure we are drawing the line in the right place: In 2018 alone, we made more than 30 policy updates. One of the most complex and constantly evolving areas we deal with is hate speech. We’ve been taking a close look at our approach towards hateful content in consultation with dozens of experts in subjects like violent extremism, supremacism, civil rights, and free speech. Based on those learnings, we are making several updates:

Removing more hateful and supremacist content from YouTube

YouTube has always had rules of the road, including a longstanding policy against hate speech. In 2017, we introduced a tougher stance towards videos with supremacist content, including limiting recommendations and features like comments and the ability to share the video. This step dramatically reduced views to these videos (on average 80%). Today, we're taking another step in our hate speech policy by specifically prohibiting videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status. This would include, for example, videos that promote or glorify Nazi ideology, which is inherently discriminatory. Finally, we will remove content denying that well-documented violent events, like the Holocaust or the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, took place.

We recognize some of this content has value to researchers and NGOs looking to understand hate in order to combat it, and we are exploring options to make it available to them in the future. And as always, context matters, so some videos could remain up because they discuss topics like pending legislation, aim to condemn or expose hate, or provide analysis of current events. We will begin enforcing this updated policy today; however, it will take time for our systems to fully ramp up and we’ll be gradually expanding coverage over the next several months.

Reducing borderline content and raising up authoritative voices

In addition to removing videos that violate our policies, we also want to reduce the spread of content that comes right up to the line. In January, we piloted an update of our systems in the U.S. to limit recommendations of borderline content and harmful misinformation, such as videos promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, or claiming the earth is flat. We’re looking to bring this updated system to more countries by the end of 2019. Thanks to this change, the number of views this type of content gets from recommendations has dropped by over 50% in the U.S. Our systems are also getting smarter about what types of videos should get this treatment, and we’ll be able to apply it to even more borderline videos moving forward. As we do this, we’ll also start raising up more authoritative content in recommendations, building on the changes we made to news last year. For example, if a user is watching a video that comes close to violating our policies, our systems may include more videos from authoritative sources (like top news channels) in the "watch next" panel.

Continuing to reward trusted creators and enforce our monetization policies

Finally, it’s critical that our monetization systems reward trusted creators who add value to YouTube. We have longstanding advertiser-friendly guidelines that prohibit ads from running on videos that include hateful content and we enforce these rigorously. And in order to protect our ecosystem of creators, advertisers and viewers, we tightened our advertising criteria in 2017. In the case of hate speech, we are strengthening enforcement of our existing YouTube Partner Program policies. Channels that repeatedly brush up against our hate speech policies will be suspended from the YouTube Partner program, meaning they can’t run ads on their channel or use other monetization features like Super Chat.
The openness of YouTube’s platform has helped creativity and access to information thrive. It’s our responsibility to protect that, and prevent our platform from being used to incite hatred, harassment, discrimination and violence. We are committed to taking the steps needed to live up to this responsibility today, tomorrow and in the years to come.

Very unfortunate. The CODOH YouTube channel now only says it is terminated due to multiple or severe violations of policies "prohibiting hate speech"

Hate speech - any speech that a leftist extremist hates

Germar Rudolf: "truth is hate to those that hate the truth"

Honestly, I am surprised it lasted this long. Too many facts debunking the standard narrative. I think there is a bitchute account with all the same videos
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance -- that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
— Herbert Spencer

NOTE: I am taking a leave of absence from revisionism to focus on other things. At this point, the ball is in their court to show the alleged massive pits full of human remains at the so-called "extermination camps." After 8 decades they still refuse to do this. I wonder why...

Adam Green breaks it down nicely.

I just saw this on my twitter, and jumped to see if the videos were still available on this webpage. I’m thankful they are, so they can be linked to people still. I have hard copies of my favorite content. I’m also surprised lasted this long. I find it particularly interesting the holocaust was mentioned in the way it was.

Boycott Youtube??? I think I will and I know it’s inconvenient for everybody but nothing worth doing cones free, it doesn't matter if it makes a difference or not either. We all know people will go on using youtube no matter how censored it gets, but thats not the point.

As of just now 22.00 UTC +1

I suppose "denial" will not include the ever shrinking official figure of deaths at Majadenek.

Hopefully Trump does something about this censorship, which actually violates the 1st Amendment. Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc ... are the digital public square. They are essentially public utilities.

Also, CODOH is on BitChute:

ADL - "sexual harassment"? You can be sure there will be no disruption to amount and grade of porn channels, all part of societal destabilisation.

I was watching Mark Collett's live stream, and someone mentioned that CODOH's youtube was among those nuked in the purge. But I did not know the ADL put out statements about it. Will post this outrage on my facebook.

Varg Vikernes had his channel taken down. Presumably because of his pan-Europeanism, not because he was a convicted church burner...

https://www.rt.com/news/461170-youtube- ... reactions/
Minutes after announcing a new policy clamping down on “hateful” and “supremacist” videos, YouTube got to work banning, demonetizing, or otherwise hiding videos from conservatives, journalists, and even black metal musicians.

The Google subsidiary updated its “hateful content” policies on Wednesday, announcing the clampdown in a blog post. The company said that from now on it will be “specifically prohibiting videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion.” Other videos that don’t strictly violate the site’s rules – including those promoting phony science or conspiracy theories – will be subject to demonetization, and other measures to restrict their viewership.

First on the chopping block were videos that outright violated the “supremacist” rule. Norwegian black metal musician and convicted murderer Varg Vikernes had his channel ‘Thulean Perspective’ banned, likely for its pan-European white separatist content.

YouTube appears to have taken its vow to pull “videos that promote or glorify Nazi ideology” seriously, removing everything from Vikernes’ neo-pagan vlogs to low-fi punk music from its platform.
...
Others targeted included vlogger ‘Sinatra Says,’ who rails against feminism and the social justice movement. For the crime of wrongthink, Sinatra had his channel demonetized. YouTube did not cite a single offensive video, but instead told the troublemaker that the move was necessary to “ensure our community is safe for creators, viewers and advertisers.”

Nationalist commentator James Allsup saw his channel’s advertising revenue cut off, with YouTube issuing the same ‘community safety’ justification, as did scores of other “borderline” commentators and creators, like ‘identitarian’ Austrian nationalist Martin Sellner and conservative pundit Steven Crowder.

The crackdown was more a carpet-bombing than a precision strike. Alongside the wrongthinkers and thought criminals, multiple journalists were punished for videos simply reporting on extremism.

Among them were Ford Fischer, whose work detailing confrontations between ‘Antifa’ activists and neo-Nazis has been featured in a documentary by PBS. Regardless of its neutrality or historical significance, YouTube demonetized his entire channel. Ditto for the Drunken Peasants, whose video mocking a Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist was deleted, despite the authors condemning his beliefs.

Conservative commentators Milo Yiannopoulos and Gavin McInnes, both well accustomed to social media bans, also had their videos deleted.

he crackdown appears to have had its genesis in a confrontation between Steven Crowder and Vox journalist Carlos Maza, aka “gaywonk.” Maza complained to YouTube last week that Crowder had called him “mister lispy queer from Vox,”“a crappy writer,” and “the gay Mexican guy.” YouTube found nothing wrong with Crowder’s videos, and said on Wednesday it would take no action.

However, the platform demonetized Crowder’s channel immediately after announcing the new rules later in the day. That did little to mollify Maza, who demanded a full ban, claiming YouTube still drives customers to Crowder’s merchandise store, which sells among other things, a t-shirt emblazoned with the text “Socialism Is For F*gs.”

There is no question that this censorship is being done in anticipation for the presidential elections. They simply can not have a repeat of 2016. Many democratic candidates have openly stated that they plan to prosecute "White nationalists" for their beliefs. These people hate free and open debate because they hate the truth. Simple as that!

Dont you think there is a chance of having the reverse effect?
There is a large wing of Democrats that do not find this funny at all, there is even a petition made by "Centrist Democrats" asking for Democrats Presidencial Candidates to leave Twitter.

Which candidates said this? That is impossible in America, and no candidate would be stupid enough to say this. Certain political figures have condemned white supremacy, but that's really all they can do, along with banning state contracts with undesirable persons.

Really?
I suggest that you do no understand the gravity of the situation in western countries.

The complete debunking of the 'holocaust' has the Zionists and their leftist shills reacting desperately.

Their reaction is actually encouraging people to investigate The Big Lie.

I see. So these leftist politicians are trying to censor free speech, under the guise of 'regulation'. The thing is, IF the U.S government regulates YouTube, Twitter, FaceBook, etc, they are required by law to protect unpopular opinions, so long as no threats are being made.

Anything else would be treason.

I currently do support nationalizing media companies, but if they were government regulated, they would legally have to be like Gab. Gab allows free speech in the same way the U.S allows it, only censoring needed to be censored ideas, like slander, threats, etc.

Elizabeth Warren and others talking about labeling "White supremacists" as a terrorist threat and prosecuting.

Indeed, White Nationalism and Supremacism are different. White Nationalism is more like a separatist movement, whereas White Supremacy is Whites and non-Whites living in the same society, but Whites being supreme over other races. White Nationalists want separating living spaces, not supremacy. But the democrat candidates won't make the distinction.

Here she directly calls out White Nationalists:
Elizabeth Warren wrote:We have to recognize the threat of white nationalism. We’ve got to call it out. As President of the United States, my Justice Department would go after white nationalists with full prosecution. #WarrenTownHall

https://twitter.com/ewarren/status/1107812094118977536

They recently had a congressional hearing on "White Nationalism" and the only person to defend Whites was ... A black lady, Candice Owens.

It's simple. The laws for spying on and imprisoning "Terrorists" were created in response to 9/11. All they have to do is label "White Nationalists" as "terrorists" and they can apply the same laws they created to prosecute members of Al Qaeda.

EDIT:

I have archived Google's cache of the CODOH Youtube account:

https://archive.is/vNcin
https://archive.is/wYbJB

They are a bit outdated but it is proof that the channel used to exist. They didn't just ban individual videos, but the entire channel!
