Videos of the Netherlands in WW2

Here is an interesting collection of videos of Holland in WW2, most of them during the German occupation. They are notable for showing that many Dutch people supported the NSB (National Socialist movement), thousands of young men joined the German army and that in many ways life continued on as normal as much as was possible during the war.

I guess you could, if you took every video, put them together and put it on youtube. There'd be more historical worth in it that in Schindler's list, easily.

Looking at these videos the German occupation of Holland seems more agreeable than the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is true. A Dutch man sympathetic to our beliefs once told me that after the war practically everyone claimed they had been in the resistance and kids were made to speak to resistance people, but the father of this man had been a volunteer soldier in the German army so he knew this wasn't true.

In truth though active resistance was likely very law, just as it was in Germany. In France too, only 0.8 percent of the population took part in the resistance.
