I can see that the discussion on such a thread can quickly lose focus, but perhaps there is a case for allowing one thread per individual contributor to allow them to gather their thoughts together in one place.

The 'Crime of the Century' thread was / is a convoluted mess making it difficult for readers, some not familiar with our subject matter, to follow. Our simple guidelines are here for good reasons. JonDoug is allowed to discuss his views about the claimed "convergence of evidence" in a single thread. Why doesn't he? His views are not banned or censored. He is free to post his opinions.
